About this service
Why Essex builders choose us for loft conversion scaffolding
Loft conversions need a scaffold that does three jobs at once: safe roof access for the strip-out, a working platform for dormer construction, and a temporary roof if the existing roof is opened up. We plan the design and hire duration around your conversion programme.
For rear or side dormers we raise the platform and handrail heights so the carpenters can work upright, with dedicated loading bays for trusses, joists and roof cassettes.
Access is usually restricted on domestic conversions — narrow side returns, garden walls and conservatories are common — so we survey every job before quoting.

FAQs
Loft Conversion Scaffolding questions, answered
When does the scaffold need to go up?
Usually a few days before the roof strip begins, and it stays up until the tiling, cladding and rainwater goods are finished.
Do I need a temporary roof for a loft conversion?
It depends on the design and the weather window. For full rear dormers or long programmes we usually recommend a temporary roof.
Can you work around my builder's schedule?
Yes — we coordinate erect, adaption and strike dates around the main contractor's programme.
