Commercial Scaffolding
across Essex

Shopfronts, schools, offices and mixed-use developments — commercial scaffolding has to keep a working business open while the work happens around it. We plan, phase and erect with that in mind.

About this service

Why Essex builders choose us for commercial scaffolding

Commercial sites care about three things: programme certainty, paperwork, and not losing a single trading hour. Every quote we issue for a commercial project includes a phased erection plan, a designed scaffold drawing where required, and the RAMS your principal contractor will ask for on day one.

We've worked overnight on Romford high-street shopfronts, weekend-only on live school sites in Brentwood, and around 24/7 logistics operations in Basildon. If your project needs out-of-hours mobilisation, banksmen, or pedestrian fans over a busy entrance, that's the work we do best.

All commercial scaffolds are erected by CISRS-card holders, signed off with a Scaftag, and re-inspected every seven days for the duration of the hire.

What's included as standard

  • Designed scaffolds with engineer's drawings for non-standard builds
  • Pedestrian fans, gantries & protective hoardings for live frontages
  • Phased erection to keep stores, offices or schools trading
  • Out-of-hours and weekend mobilisation available
  • Full document pack: RAMS, design, handover & weekly inspections
  • Compatible with main-contractor permit-to-work systems

Our process

From phone call to strike — how it works

Commercial work runs on paperwork and programme. Our process is built around handing your principal contractor everything they need on day one — drawings, RAMS, insurances and inductions — so the scaffold isn't the thing that holds the project up.

1

Pre-construction call

We talk through phasing, trading hours, hoarding requirements and any out-of-hours access before we even visit site.

2

Site survey & dimensions

Senior scaffolder visits with the project manager, takes measurements and identifies tie points and pedestrian routes.

3

Design + drawn quote

Where required, an engineer's drawing accompanies the fixed-price quote. RAMS issued alongside.

4

Mobilisation & build

Inducted crews mobilise on the agreed date — including weekends or nights — and build under the principal contractor's permit system.

5

Weekly inspection regime

Scaftag updated every seven days. Inspection records emailed to the site team and held on file for the duration.

6

Phased strike

Most commercial strikes are phased to release floors or zones progressively. We sequence with the main contractor's programme.

Safety & compliance

Safety first, every job

On a commercial site the scaffold is the most visible safety document on the project. Ours stand up to scrutiny from main-contractor SHE teams, building control and HSE inspections.

Standards we work to

  • Engineer-stamped drawings on every non-standard build
  • Daily pre-start checks recorded against the scaftag
  • RAMS reviewed and signed against the site's permit-to-work
  • Pedestrian fans designed to BS 5975 loading rules
  • CISRS Advanced supervisors on commercial mobilisations
  • £10m PL plus £2m EL, certificates on file
  • ISO 9001-aligned QMS for record keeping
  • Inductions, CSCS cards and DBS where required

Pricing

What affects the price of commercial scaffolding?

Commercial quotes are detailed because the variables are large — phasing, hoardings, fans, out-of-hours mobilisation and engineering all sit on the price. We line-item everything so your QS can value-engineer with us.

FAQs

Commercial Scaffolding questions, answered

Can you work outside normal hours on retail units?

Yes — most of our shopfront and high-street work happens between 7pm and 6am or on Sundays to protect trading hours.

Do you provide engineer-stamped drawings?

For any non-standard design, cantilever, bridge or loaded scaffold, yes — included in the price.

Are you set up to work under a principal contractor?

Yes. We integrate with CDM, permit-to-work and induction processes as standard.

Bringing a commercial project to site?

Send us the drawings — we'll come back with a drawn solution, RAMS and a fixed price. Usually within 48 hours.
